Chairman Jack Lanners
Gov. Tim Pawlenty appointed John "Jack" Lanners chairman of the Metropolitan Airports Commission on June 30, 2006. Lanners was first appointed to the MAC in April 2003 as a representative of District F, which includes a portion of Anoka County, northeastern Ramsey County and all of Washington County. He chaired the MAC's Management and Operations Committee and headed a study of the commission's reliever airports.
Lanners is the president and chief executive officer of FTL Corporation, which owns a number of MGM Wine and Spirits franchises; president of R.P. Royalties, Inc.; and is an officer and partner with LannCo LLC, which specializes in commercial real estate development. Lanners serves on the boards of directors of the Friends of the St. Paul Libraries, the Center of the American Experiment and the Minnesota Licensed Beverage Association.
Chairman Lanners resides in Woodbury with his wife, Norma Jean. He is a native of Saint Paul and attended Marquette University in Wisconsin.
