Alaska Airlines begins service at MSP Oct. 26
Alaska Airlines is preparing to inaugurate twice-daily, year-round service between Seattle and Minneapolis/St. Paul. The first flight will take place Sunday, October 26.
The airliine announced its intention to add the route in May, saying, "With our new service between Seattle and Minneapolis/St. Paul, we now fly to one of the largest cities not previously served by Alaska Airlines."
Andrew Harrison, managing director of planning for Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air said, the new route "is part of a broader effort to trim capacity from underperforming markets and redeploy it in places where customer demand is high."
The airline will operate the new flights with Boeing 737-800s, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin.
