MSP International Airport

Roadway Construction

A number of new roadways on and near the airport needed to be built or realigned including:Image of Return to Lindbergh Terminal Overpass and Outbound Roadway at MSP International Airport

  • 34th Avenue from 494 to the new Humphrey Terminal
  • A new Cargo Road to serve the 17/35 cargo facilities (FedEx and UPS)
  • Changes to Service Road W, which is inside security
  • Realignment of Service Road D along Runway 4/22
  • A new Highway 77(Cedar)/66th Street Interchange; the west half will be done in 2005
  • Realignment of Airport Lane and replacement of 77th Street
  • Realignment and expansion of 24th Avenue
  • Construction of a bridge at 24th Avenue adjacent to 494 to allow realignment of Airport Lane
  • Development of Humphrey Drive
  • Expansion of Glumack Drive
  • Reconstruction and expansion of Longfellow Avenue paralleling Highway 77(Cedar) from 66th Street to 77th Street
  • New service roads inside airport security along both sides of the new runway
