Today, Southwest Airlines announced it would begin providing nonstop service to Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) starting April 12, 2016. Service will be year-round and twice daily.

Delta Air Lines also announced today it would begin seasonal, nonstop service to Reykjavik, Iceland from MSP, beginning May 26, 2016. Just last month, Delta announced nonstop service to Rome from MSP, making Iceland the carrier's sixth nonstop international destination from MSP.

"These new routes illustrate how important MSP continues to be for these two carriers," said Jeff Hamiel, Executive Director/CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, owner and operator of MSP Airport. "We're thrilled to have these new options for Minnesotan's to visit both Europe and the Washington, D.C. area."
