    • Visit the CDC website for additional information and regulations.
    • Check with MnDOT for the latest information on public transportation and road construction around the airport.
  • Packing
    • Plan to arrive to the airport two hours early for domestic travel and three hours early for international travel.

Getting to the Airport

Before heading to the airport, make sure to know which terminal your flight is departing from. Plan to arrive at the airport two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight. The dropdowns to the right will give you tips for your selected mode of transportation.

Light Rail or Bus

Check the most recent schedule to plan your ride. Face coverings are required while riding on Metro Transit.

Getting Dropped Off
If you need to check baggage or get your boarding pass, follow the overhead signs to find your airline. Only the traveler should exit the vehicle and enter the terminal during both pick-ups and drop-offs. The driver should always remain in the vehicle. During busy times at Terminal 1, you can use both the Arrivals and Departures levels for pick-ups and drop-offs.
Driving and Parking at Terminal 1

Daily Parking is available in the Green/Yellow and Red/Blue ramps. For Daily Parking, you can prebook your parking and save $2 per day.

Valet is available; follow the overhead signs on the inbound roadway.

The Quick Ride Ramp is temporarily closed.

Driving and Parking at Terminal 2

Daily Value parking at Terminal 2 is available. You can prebook your parking and save $2 per day over the rollup rate.

Security Checkpoints

Our website has real-time security wait times and additional information.

The TSA has changed some things to make it easier for passengers to travel safely:

  • Markings on the floor measuring six feet apart make social distancing a snap.
  • Travelers can bring up to 12 oz. of hand sanitizer through the security checkpoints.
  • Passengers can wear masks during the screening process – though you may have to adjust your mask to confirm your identity.
  • The TSA is disinfecting touchpoints and bins continuously and all frontline employees will be wearing gloves. You may ask your agent to put on fresh gloves before a search of your belongings.
  • Pack items you will need to remove during screening, such as snacks, in smaller bags.
  • Travelers will be scanning their own boarding passes and identification to minimize contact. Make things even easier by utilizing electronic boarding passes and electronic passports
  • Don't forget, while lines may appear longer due to social distancing, what you are seeing is not a long line, it is a safe line!
Open Checkpoints at Terminal 1

Both the North and South Security Checkpoints are fully operational. The international arrivals checkpoint at Terminal 1 is also open.

The Skyway Security Checkpoint on the Concourse C/G connector bridge is temporarily closed along with the associated KCM entrance. The automated exit is open at that location; 24 hours a day, seven days a week

Open Checkpoints at Terminal 2
Checkpoint 1 (located off the Orange Ramp skyway or up the escalator from Door 2) is open. Checkpoint 2 is temporarily closed.

Post Security

While you may notice some airport amenities are closed, there are still plenty of food, drink and retail offerings available. Protective measures are being followed including plexiglass barriers, spaced seating and employees wearing masks. Vending machines dispensing PPE equipment, snacks, personal care products and electronics are located throughout the terminal. Find them by using our interactive map.
