When flight schedules get busy at MSP Airport’s Terminal 2, the nearby roadways can get congested. Some current construction projects near the terminal will also catch motorists’ attention.
One idea to plan ahead for your commute: monitor MnDOT’s 511 webpage and zoom in on highways near Terminal 2 to see if traffic appears heavy.
An option to avoid congestion is the Terminal 2 Express Lane, which takes you into the Purple parking ramp and allows you to drop off or pick up passengers near a skyway to the terminal. The Express Lane is free and available 24 hours a day.
Other alerts to help guide motorists: Post Road is under construction, and the current alignment allows only eastbound traffic moving away from Terminal 2 and headed toward Hwy. 5. This is the route to access MSP’s cell phone waiting lot.
Also, if you’re planning to use the Metro Blue Line LRT to travel to or from Terminal 2, remember that the line is out of service until Aug. 20. Find full information about the bus service replacing the Blue Line in the interim.
