Perform skilled electrical work in the construction, installation, alteration, preventive and corrective maintenance and repair of varied commercial lighting, power and electrical distribution systems and equipment at Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) International Airport and associated facilities. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of medium voltage switch-gear and transformers; maintenance of airfield lighting, signage and NAVAIDS; and other tasks as assigned. This position may also perform duties at the reliever airports.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a state approved apprenticeship program for a Class A Journeyperson Electrician -AND- four (4) years of experience as a Class A or higher Journeyperson Electrician
  • Possession of a valid MN Class A Journeyperson Electricians License
  • Possession of a Commercial driver's license permit within 60 days of hire and the ability to obtain a CDL within one year of appointment
  • Possession of or agree to obtain a complete set of basic electrician tools by date of hire
  • Basic proficiency with web browsers, email, and word processing
  • Ability to work outdoors in severe and varied weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, position, carry and pull 50 pounds
  • Ability to work overtime and call backs, both scheduled and unscheduled, for all shifts as required including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to travel in and out-of-state for training on particular systems, as required
