MSP Airport now offers tactile maps at the entrance of every terminal restroom to support travelers who are blind or have low vision. These durable, high contrast maps use raised symbols, braille labels, and easy to understand layouts to help visitors independently navigate each restroom, including the location of stalls, urinals, sinks and accessible features.
Each map is approximately two to three feet square and mounted between 48 and 60 inches from the floor—an optimal height range based on Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines.
Nearly 150 restrooms across MSP feature these tactile maps in men’s, women’s, accessible, companion care, nursing and lactation rooms. The signs are also located outside service animal/pet relief areas.
By adding tactile maps to these busy spaces, MSP is strengthening its commitment to creating an inclusive environment that is more accessible for all travelers.
