The Passenger Service Agent is the first impression of a passenger's airport experience. Passenger Service Agents perform all aspects of airport and passenger service functions including: making reservations, preparation and issuance of tickets and itineraries, checking baggage, collection of excess baggage charges, and providing passengers with general travel information.
Responsibilities
• Aircraft boarding and deplaning
• Coordinating between each assigned carrier to ensure that service meets the needs of the carrier to ensure on-time schedules are met
• Performs duties at boarding gates when enplaning and deplaning passengers
• Use airline computer systems to provide flight arrival and departure information, ticketing and flight boarding documents
• Determines flight close-out time and prepares, completes and checks various flight forms for accuracy, invalidates tickets and completes post-departure procedures
• Able to perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints
• Follows and complies with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations
• Able to greet and assist all customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner
• Accept and process checked baggage weighing up to 00 lbs. and place on conveyor belts.
• Operate jet bridges to place them in position prior to aircraft arrival and lifting, opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors
• Able to stand and work in one location for up to four hours at a time
• You may be responsible for escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport
• Work independently without direct supervision
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check
• Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. If the flight you are working is delayed past your scheduled shift time, you are required to stay until all job responsibilities are completed.
• Must be able to lift / carry / push / pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on to raised surfaces
