Welcome

The Airport Foundation MSP welcomes attendees to the 2022 Annual Conference & Exhibition in Minneapolis-St. Paul.  We look forward to introducing you to the many programs and services we offer at MSP! Stop by and say hello to one of our amazing volunteers when passing through MSP (you can spot them in green vests) and allow time to enjoy one of our many Arts Exhibitions, including commissioned arts and rotating exhibits. If your schedule allows, also take a moment to relax and enjoy a special performance.

We hope you enjoy the conference and thank you for allowing the MSP Airport Community to be your host!

Who We Are and What We Do

The Airport Foundation MSP is a 501 (c) (3) public charity, a non-profit organization, which turns 40-years-old in 2022. Its mission is to enhance the experience and exceed the expectations of travelers at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, as well as to support the airport and broader aviation community.

Volunteers are the key to our foundation’s success and support key programs that include Travelers Assistance, Arts and Culture, Special Projects, and Tourism.

Special Events

In addition to Travelers Assistance and the Arts@MSP program, the Airport Foundation MSP produces special events that connect the Twin Cities Business Community with the Airport Business Community, including the annual Golf Tournament and State of the Airport event. These networking opportunities bring together business leaders from across the Twin Cities with Airport Leaders with a common goal of supporting one of the largest economic drivers to the State and local economy, the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Arts Exhibits

Arts@MSP is a partnership between the Metropolitan Airports Commission and the Airport Foundation MSP that showcases the Upper Midwest’s diverse artistic community, natural environment, and cultural heritage.  The mission of the Arts@MSP program is to enhance the image of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), enriches the public’s experience and promotes a sense of place through arts and culture.

Commissioned Arts

The commissioned artwork at MSP provides opportunities for the airport, artists and community to transform ordinary spaces into dynamic, meaningful places. The scope, composition and longevity of these works help to promote MSP’s sense of place by providing:

  • Thought-provoking and memorable experiences for airport users
  • Landmarks that help people navigate and orient themselves in the airport
  • Meaningful ways for people to experience our culture, environment and history
  • A venue with international exposure for regional artists
  • A sense of community pride

Travelers Assistance

Travelers Assistance is an essential function performed by Airport Foundation MSP Volunteers who staff information desks and walk the terminals assisting travelers with directions, flight status, lost and found, transportation, hotels and tourist attractions.

Travelers Assistance Volunteers also present the Animal Ambassador program throughout Terminals 1 and 2, providing comfortable, casual interactions with registered therapy animals who help travelers feel at home when they travel.  The MSP Airport Pet Therapy Program has grown to become one of the largest of its kind in the world.

In addition, Travelers Assistance Volunteers greet inbound travelers from international flights and assist them with forms completed prior to entering the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Federal Inspection Areas.

Travelers Assistance Meet and Assist Services are complimentary upon request and offer personalized assistance for travelers with special needs, who require help getting around the airport or during a connection. Meet and assist requests are accommodated by trained Travelers Assistance Volunteers uniquely qualified for this high-touch service. Visit airportfoundation.org or call 612-726-5570 to request complimentary Meet and Assist services.
