The MSP Airport Police Department (APD) held its annual Awards & Recognition Event on May 20, 2025, at the Lost Spur Country Club in Eagan. The ceremony honored exceptional achievements and exemplary service throughout the 2024 calendar year.
Approximately 150 guests were in attendance, including members of the Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP) community, Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) employees, APD personnel, and their families and friends. The event provided an important opportunity to recognize individuals across the department and the broader airport community for their dedication, bravery, and service.
Lieutenant Jeff Mademann, Chair of the APD Awards & Recognition Committee, emphasized the event's significance. “Each year, this event allows us to celebrate the exceptional individuals who go above and beyond in their commitment to public safety and service,” he said. “It’s an honor to recognize those who have made a lasting impact on our department and the communities we serve."
Promotions
As part of APD tradition, newly promoted officers are ceremonially recognized and presented with their ranking collar brass. This year, Sergeants Andrew Roland and Steve Sarazin, both promoted on Feb. 1, 2025, were formally pinned by department staff and family members.
