Inflight Manager

This position will be a Department Manager that will assist the Manager of Inflight in the planning, implementation, and oversight of Inflight Operations. Inflight Managers are responsible for the supervision and support of the Flight Attendants to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and federal regulations to achieve safety, service, and operational performance goals.

·         Maintain a high level of knowledge in the following areas:  Flight Attendant Manual, Department Memos, Service Duties/Responsibilities, Flight Attendant Policies and Procedures, Federal Regulations applicable to Flight Attendant Duties/Responsibilities, Transportation Security Regulations applicable to Flight Attendant Duties/Responsibilities, Department policies and procedures, Flight Attendant Union Agreement, Company Drug and Alcohol Program.

·         Responsible for overall supervision, support, and coaching of Flight Attendants.

·         Interacts daily over the phone, via e-mail, and face to face with the Flight Attendants and various departments throughout the Company.

·         Mentors, supports, investigates, and determines outcome of investigations when violations of Company policy and/or Federal Regulations occur.

·         Research reports received from Customer Service and provide appropriate follow up to Customer Service Department.

·         Provides briefings to crews before, during, and after trips.

·         Provide on-call assistance to respond to emergencies or assist with inflight operations decisions.

·         Attend interdepartmental meetings representing the Inflight Department. 

·         Ensures Flight Attendants adhere to Federal Regulations, including Flight Attendant Manual compliance.

·         Monitors daily operational performance, research delays to identify root cause, implement corrective actions to achieve operational performance goals.

·         Conducts audits and quality assurance rides to ensure Flight Attendant compliance with policies and procedures and completes appropriate forms.

·         Participate in Operations and Inflight Quality Assurance Meetings.

·         Assists with hiring process for new Flight Attendants.

·         Completes projects as assigned by the Manager of Inflight and/or VP Inflight

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·         High School Diploma

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred

·         Three or more years of prior leadership experience

·         Ability to motivate, mentor, lead, coach, and develop a team

·         Ability to comfortably address large groups of people

·         Possess an FAA-issued Flight Attendant Certificate or able to complete Flight Attendant Training Program

·         Experience with union collective bargaining agreement administration

·         Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office

·         Demonstrates strong organization and time management skills as well as the ability to multi-task

·         Has working knowledge of Part 121 operations, Federal Regulations, and Transportation Security Regulations

·         Flexibility and operational availability 24/7

·         Inflight Managers work varied hours including early morning and evenings, schedules include week days/weekends and travel to complete assigned duties.

 

Preferred Skills

·         Previous management experience

·         Previous experience as a qualified flight attendant

·         Previous performance management experience

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones photocopiers, filing cabinets.
