The Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport Police Department (MSP APD), a division of the Metropolitan Airports Commissions (MAC), serves the entire airport campus. The department is comprised of approximately 200 employees which includes full-time officers, part-time officers assigned to terminal checkpoints, community service officers, and civilian administrative positions along with our own 911 Emergency Communications Center. This makes MSP APD one of the largest police departments in the state, with more opportunities for advancement and specialty assignments. Our department works closely with many federal agencies including: FBI, DEA, CBP, TSA and USSS.

MSP Airport Police Officers are responsible for all law enforcement duties at and around the airport to include the safety and protection of the airport community which includes 39 million annual passengers and 21,000 employees. Officers enforce state statutes and federal regulations, local ordinances, and traffic violations. Uniformed patrols include, but are not limited to, the surrounding local roadways, highways, Air Operations Area, parking ramps, the terminal buildings, cargo facilities and other businesses within our community.
