Minnesotans don't hibernate in the winter, and seasonal events will draw crowds again late this year, ranging from ice festivals to light displays and a new snow-sculpting tournament.

From the Twin Cities metro area to small towns across the state, winter events are part of our culture. Grand Rapids’ Winter Glo festival and Detroit Lakes’ Polarfest are events that will return this upcoming winter, after a hiatus due to the pandemic.

Kites on Ice in Buffalo celebrates winter with free kites for kids, food and drinks, and experienced show kite flyers will put on a dazzling display of color. Watch this webpage for 2022 event information.

A brand new event this year in Stillwater in January is the first WORLD Snow Sculpting Championship, which will bring 10-12 snow sculpting teams from different countries around the world. This is a judged event that includes several different social events and ceremonies for sponsors and other dignitaries.

There are many other events happening throughout the state; make sure to visit exploreminnesota.com for more information.
