Pay: $18.00/hr. - $21.00/hr.
Baggage service agents are responsible for filling out forms related to lost, damaged, or unclaimed baggage; operating the computer system used for tracking baggage and arranging delivery for delayed luggage.
Responsibilities
- Assisting passengers with general baggage related questions
- Completing baggage claims for delayed luggage
- Enter claims into computer system
- Tracking lost luggage
- Communicating with passengers about status of delayed luggage
- Pull unclaimed luggage from baggage belts and ensure its security
- Provide assistance, information and customer service as requested to arriving, transferring or departing passengers
- Reporting to a supervisor on any abnormal operational complexities
- Processing luggage claims
- Arranging delivery for delayed luggage
- Ability to comply with attendance/tardiness standards
- Able to perform under pressure and with large crowds of people
- Follows and complies with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma of GED preferred
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check
- Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic
- Ability to work in both team-oriented environment and individually
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. If the flight you are working is delayed past your scheduled shift time, you are required to stay until all job responsibilities are completed
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while working
- Must be able to lift / carry / push / pull and move items of 50 pounds or more on a regular basis
- Subject to non-DOT drug and/or alcohol testing
- Previous customer service experience preferred
