The Ramp Supervisor safely and efficiently leads and coordinates the efforts of ramp personnel and ensures the timely delivery of all services for airlines as contracted. The Ramp Supervisor takes accountability for safety, operation standards, training, and policy implementation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establishing shift assignments
  • Responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment
  • Reporting discrepancies that may exist both functional and mechanical on the ground support equipment
  • Ensures necessary ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights
  • Supervises and coordinates daily activities of employees to ensure safe and effective operations
  • Coordinating between each assigned carrier to ensure that service meets the needs of the carrier and ensure on-time schedules are met
  • Provide employees with classroom and on-the-job training
  • Communicating with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities with other departments
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous materials identification labels, aircraft loading manifest, and baggage routing tags
  • Follow and comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations
  • Ensure crews are being briefed before flights on positions to take and how the flight will work
  • Load and unload baggage and cargo of various weight and dimensions to and from aircraft and airport baggage areas (baggage make-up area and/or inbound bagroom)
  • Ensure ramp areas are safe and free of Foreign Objects Debris (FOD)
  • Ensure disciplinary procedures are conducted in a fair, timely, and consistent manner
  • Able to perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints
  • Assist employees in setting goals to improve performance
  • Other duties as assigned
