Reserve a time in the security line - it's free!
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) passengers flying out of Terminal 2 in the summer of 2023 may reserve a time at the TSA Security Checkpoint screening area through a new pilot program called MSP RESERVE.
Participation in the MSP RESERVE program is optional and free for all Terminal 2 passengers. The service puts passengers in control of their airport journey while providing the same high standard of security as all TSA lanes - all without a paid membership!
How it works
Sign up in advance up to seven days before your flight or when you arrive at the ticketing level of Terminal 2.
When making an appointment, enter your trip details (airline, destination, and flight number) along with your name, contact information, and party size.
When it is time for your appointment, go to the Security Checkpoint and follow the signs for MSP RESERVE. You can plan your route with our interactive map.
Show airport staff your appointment confirmation and go through screening.
Eat, shop, or relax before your flight! Consider ordering food and coffee online to bypass the lines.
The MSP RESERVE program has its own dedicated lane at the TSA Checkpoints, reducing the wait time for those who participate. The MSP RESERVE program allows guests to schedule a specific time for their TSA security screening. All you need to do is reserve your time and show up at your assigned checkpoint at your appointment time.
Either schedule an appointment ahead of time or scan the QR code on MSP RESERVE signs as you arrive at MSP.
After you enter your details, a QR code will be sent to your email inbox.
When it is time for your appointment, head to the Security Checkpoint and share the QR code to enter the MSP RESERVE line
The program is currently available at Terminal 2 between 3:45 am to 8:00 am.
The MSP RESERVE program is optional for departing passengers. Connecting passengers do not have to use it if they are remaining inside Terminal.
Passengers who are connecting to a flight from Terminal 1 and must go through screening again at Terminal 2 are encouraged to use MSP RESERVE.
No, MSP RESERVE is only available to general passengers to help provide a better screening experience for those without a trusted traveler program and create efficiency where we have the highest demand.
All TSA PreCheck passengers should be screened at their designated checkpoint in order to use their PreCheck benefits, such as not having to remove shoes and electronics. All CLEAR customers can go to their dedicated lane at each security checkpoint as well to enjoy their expedited experience. Members of expedited programs can still use MSP RESERVE if they want to, but they will need to follow general screening practices.
Yes, it is completely free for all passengers! There is no account or membership required to use MSP RESERVE.
